januar: drawing of a girl with blue windblown hair and the words "forgotten but not gone" ([misc] forgotten but not gone)
Although I don't play at Milliways anymore, it is quite obvious that it and the characters I played will always be a part of me.

I'm currently reading "The Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan, which is the sequel series to the Percy Jackson books.

The first book had mention of Iris having kids, which had me wishing I still played and someone else played her son. Oh, the fun!

The second book had Iris herself, which had me grinning and adjusting my mental image of the goddess, and wishing I could bring this Iris into the bar.

I'm on the third book, and one of the characters said something, and out of nowhere this girl repeats what he said. I don't have to read any further to know who that is. I squealed out loud, along with an "Echo!", all the while grinning like a loon. I imagine I'll be grinning throughout the whole part she's in. Because. Echo!

So yeah, Milliways still has a grip on me.

Milliways is moving to Dreamwidth, with a whole new cast list. I don't think I'll be making the move with them.

The truth is, I can't remember the last time I RPed. It has definitely been quite some time. I have two characters active right now, but when I do RP, I only seem to bring in the one I'm more comfortable with and have RPed with longer.

Where does that leave my characters, including the ones retired?

Characters, old and 'current' )

Thank you, Milliways, for all the good times. Because of you, I've made several friends that I hope will continue to be my friends even though I'm not RPing anymore. I've learned stuff about myself that I might have never known. I've been places I never would have thought to visit. But most of all, you made me happy, Milliways. I'll never forget you.

[prompted by this]

Her father hadn't wanted her to become a Mountie. She was his little girl, and he knew that Mounties sometimes died in the line of duty. He didn't want to lose her like he lost her mother. He had her live with her grandparents, hoping that living with a couple of librarians might get the idea out of her head.

Unfortunately, that plan failed.

It's not that he wasn't proud of her. Quite the contrary. Seeing her in that bright red uniform, hat on straight, filled his heart with so much pride. It's just that it also filled his heart with fear and dread. He had a feeling that someday soon they would be parted by not just two thousand miles, but by death.

He didn't realize he would be the one dying.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes. Constable Iris Fraser, Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I'm looking for the officer in charge of this case..."

[Because I cannot not imagine Iris saying "Thank you kindly." She totally would. Her wolf would be named Artemis, after the Greek goddess of the moon. And along with Inuit stories, she would tell stories of the Greeks (as a child, she found that section of the library quite fascinating.)]

So. Um. This is looooong overdue. By like a year and a half. I suck. X( But I finally have it written! Thanks to recent journal entries. Don't ask me why, but it just happened.

Anyway! [livejournal.com profile] tahira_saki requested a drabble with Delia and Echo kissing. (Like I said, looong overdue, considering I don't play Echo anymore. But I did at the time.)

Here you go, hon. Sorry it took so long to get this to you!

[Rated PG/PG-13 for girls kissing and brief boob touching (but very brief)]

Recently I've been wondering where my muse has gone.

Apparently my muse is a pair of shoes.

Go figure.

That said, I finally got some drabble/fic requests done that were requested over a year ago.

For: [livejournal.com profile] sir_gareth/[livejournal.com profile] henry_jones_jr
Prompt: Let's replace Marion with Milli!Echo and dump her into the Well of Souls with Indy in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yes, that's the antechamber full of snakes. One torch. One bouncy snake-loving nymph in a purty white dress. One flustered-to-petrified explorer.

Here you go, Gareth! Sorry it took so long!

Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes? )
