I just finished transferring over most of the many many vids I've accumulated over the years (I say most because I left out the really old Spuffy ones (yes, I was a Spike/Buffy shipper. yes, I used the term Spuffy) to my laptop's hard drive.

Grand total: 280 vids. 76 (27%) are Doctor Who related. Another 25%(ish) are Merlin and Whedon shows. The rest fall in a wide variety of fandoms.

At one time I thought of making a vid rec post. Iiii don't think that will be happening any time soon.

Festivid recs! Honestly, I'd rec everything, but I'll try to narrow it down to my absolute favorites.

Can I Get Get Get [2 Broke Girls] - I love this show, partly because Kat Dennings is sassy and hot, but also because the show always makes me laugh, and most important, it's about the friendship of two awesome young ladies. This vid perfectly shows everything I love about that friendship.

Let's Go To The Mall [Clueless] - As soon as I saw the title of the vid, I went, "omg, did somebody make a vid to the Robin Sparkles song from HIMYM?" And they totally did! It's like the song and the movie were made for each other.

Eye of the Tiger [A Knight's Tale] - All I'm going to do is quote the summary: A Knight's Tale is both 20 years too late and nearly 700 years too early to be a 1980s sports movie. That doesn't stop it from trying. Nuff said.

Da' Scarlet Dipernel [The Scarlet Pimpernel - 1982] - Okay, I don't even -know- this canon, but that doesn't stop it from being one of my favorites. What really sells it to me is Ian McKellan's expressions, Jane Seymour's hair, and the other guy's looking glass.

Firework [Whip It] - Okay, the first time I watched this vid, I got tears in my eyes, that's how happy it makes me.

Like I said at the very beginning, I would rec everything if I could, but if I did that, this would be a frakin' long entry. So I'm just going to link you to the master list here. Enjoy watching!

Science!

On Saturday at gaming the song "She Blinded Me With Science" came up. That got me thinking that there should be a multi-fandom vid to that song. Science Ladies who should be included: Abby (NCIS), Brennen (Bones), Willow (BtVS), Wendy and Mandy (CSI), Martha (DW), Liz Shaw (DW), Tosh (TW), Alison (Eureka), Sam (SG1), Scully (X-Files), Kari Byron (Mythbusters).

Obviously there are other awesome Science Ladies out there, but I can't think of them at the moment. That's where you do come in. Give me names of awesome Science Ladies!

I was watching vids last night, and one of them was to the song "Every You, Every Me" by Placebo.

I'm not sure at what point it was, but something clicked as I was listening to it. Quite possible the "something borrowed, something blue" line. I went back to the beginning of the vid and just listened to the song, not watching the actual vid.

So. If you wanted to do a vid on the relationship between the Doctor and his companions and give it a really bitter feel, this is the song to do it to.

Every You Every Me lyrics )

See? a box I choose; No other box I choose to use = TARDIS. All alone in space and time; There's nothing here but what here's mine; Something borrowed, something blue = again, TARDIS. Plus, Time Lord. And the "every me" is the different Doctors while the "every you" are the companions.

Aaargh, this is one of those times I wish I had any vidding skills at all.

Spent this dreary afternoon being a geek/nerd/dork and figuring out my character's background for the D&D campaign I'm going to be part of. Sadly, there was no gaming today, so I can't tell the DM about my character. Of course, if there had been gaming, I wouldn't have had the time and chance to work on my character, so yay for no gaming?

The posts about tonight's episode of Doctor Who are starting to pop up. I know that last week I said the extra wait wouldn't bother me, but now I'm all curious. I might have to find a way to watch it before BBC America airs it next week. I'll probably still watch it next week when it airs, so don't worry, ratings!

Finally, why do Vienna Teng songs make awesome videos? Because I have not seen a vid to a Vienna Teng song that I have not liked.
