Reading pages on TV Tropes, I just discovered that there is a trope that gets its name from the Eleventh Doctor:

Bowties Are Cool.

And there we have it. At least it's just less than three months until the Christmas Special. If I could survive the break-up of this season, I'm sure I can survive the wait.

This morning I woke up with my brain thinking about the Harry Potter/Doctor Who crossover I thought of back at the end of May but have done nothing with.

Unfortunately, my newest idea, which was actually some backstory for the main story, can stand by itself as a Doctor Who story. Where the Doctor and River Song go to the time of King Arthur and Morgan le Fay turns out to be the Rani and the Doctor ends up getting known as Merlin and River is the Lady of the Lake.

Of course, I know nothing about the Rani other than she's a female Time Lord the Doctor goes up against. And, well, I really really really don't need another plot bunny in my head.

That said, I seem to already be looking up info on the Rani and the Lady of the Lake. *facepalms at self*

My brother has been playing Tomb Raider the last couple of days.

Of course, since Lara Croft is a British archaeologist who runs around shooting things, that has only given me the desire for Lara and River Song running around together being British archaeologists and shooting things.

I've gotten to the point where I can only watch so much Classic Who at a time, especially if it's a really long serial. I started watching "The Monster of Peladon", but had to take a break. Maybe I'll finish it tonight.

A Doctor Who(ish) rec. Which is really a Merlin rec, but it's one where Morgana is a Time Lord (which is AWESOME). Therefore: Indistinguishable From Magic by netgirl_y2k.

Speaking of secret Time Lords, I have this idea of someone who is totally one (a secret time lord, that is), but the hard part it making it work. See, the person is from a world of magic, but there really isn't magic in Doctor Who, just science, so I'm trying to figure out how to explain the magic with science. Obviously I don't want to steal netgirl_y2k's ideas of why there's magic in Camelot. You see my problem?

I might just have to sit down and really really think. And do research. Yay, research.

I was watching vids last night, and one of them was to the song "Every You, Every Me" by Placebo.

I'm not sure at what point it was, but something clicked as I was listening to it. Quite possible the "something borrowed, something blue" line. I went back to the beginning of the vid and just listened to the song, not watching the actual vid.

So. If you wanted to do a vid on the relationship between the Doctor and his companions and give it a really bitter feel, this is the song to do it to.

Aaargh, this is one of those times I wish I had any vidding skills at all.

Despite watching three Fourth Doctor stories, I'm skipping ahead to the Seventh Doctor one. Mostly because it's 1988. Eighty-eight! I was around then! Well, I was also around for Five and Six, but when you see the Doctor and Ace walking around 1988 Windsor and the CLOTHES and the TAPE DECK, it's all "YES. THAT IS LATE EIGHTIES/EARLY NINETIES. I REMEMBER THAT."

So! Silver Nemesis was the story I watched. ( Where the Doctor and Ace listen to jazz, Ace wears a FEZ, and three different enemy groups thrive for world domination. )

That... didn't really tell much about the plot. I get more attracted to the little things, can't you tell?

I wasn't impressed with last night's Doctor Who. Which means I probably won't be impressed with next week's as well. But I may be wrong about that!

At least that means the two week wait (Memorial Day next weekend will push Doctor Who back a week in America) won't be too bad. For me, anyway.
