Ahem. *coughs into hand* Anyway. I have made a conclusion!
It is this: The pier that John and Rodney were on in "The Shrine"? They never tell us what pier they're on. -I- am going to say that it was the east pier, because that's the pier they're racing cars at. The east pier? Is totally where John and Rodney go for dates. Because there's usually no one out there (they were surprised to see Teyla, after all). That way they can drink beer and race cars and make out in peace.
"You know, we kind of got interrupted," Rodney says shortly after Teyla wanders off with a finally sleeping Torren.
John lifts an eyebrow, yet keeps his eyes on his car. "We did?"
Rodney curses as his car gets rammed again. "Of course we did. We were heading off to, well, you know, when Michael attacked."
John stops his car suddenly, causing Rodney's to rear end it. He turns and smirks at Rodney. ""You know"?"
Rodney sighs and rolls his eyes. "Yes! You know. The place, with the..." He makes some sort of gesture with his free hand that any person who didn't know Rodney wouldn't get. Fortunately, John both knew Rodney, and got it.
"Why, Rodney, are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?" John teases, still smirking.
Rodney glares at him, crossing his arms. "Stop with all the questions! Yes! Yes, yes, yes! I am because we were going to and we never did and..."
"Rodney," John says, trying to calm the scientist.
"... and it's always like this, every time," Rodney continues, now waving his hands in the air, "We're about to go, and then there's an emergency, and afterward we're too tired or we forget and..."
"Rodney," John tries again, stepping closer.
"... and I just wish that for once we would be able to follow through with out plans one hundred permmph!"
John removes his mouth from Rodney's, smiling. "Rodney. I got it."
"Oh," Rodney says. He relaxed slightly, looking at John. "You got it."
"Yeah," John says, bringing up his hand to cup the back of Rodney's neck, thumb rubbing just behind Rodney's ear.
Rodney leans slightly into the touch. "So. The place, then?"
He looks so hopeful that John can't help but grin before leaning in to kiss Rodney again. "Yeah. The place."
