januarDespite watching three Fourth Doctor stories, I'm skipping ahead to the Seventh Doctor one. Mostly because it's 1988. Eighty-eight! I was around then! Well, I was also around for Five and Six, but when you see the Doctor and Ace walking around 1988 Windsor and the CLOTHES and the TAPE DECK, it's all "YES. THAT IS LATE EIGHTIES/EARLY NINETIES. I REMEMBER THAT."
So! Silver Nemesis was the story I watched.
- Seventh Doctor opening! Which would have been a lot cooler if they didn't do that stupid face thing. Sooo glad they didn't do that with the new series.
- Ace called him Professor!
- The Doctor build her a tape deck! So of course it has special features.
- The t-shirt Ace is wearing is so 80s.
- Ace is wearing a fez! *flails hands with glee*
- The Queen with her corgis!
- Ha! Ace hooked the Doctor with his own umbrella!
- Cybermen! In their last appearance in the classic series, btw.
- It's really too bad the New Who Cybermen don't have the same weakness to gold as the old Cybermen did. It might be much easier to beat them.
- The Doctor and Ace whistling as they walk along! And then the Doctor with a bandanna tied around his head and Ace wearing his hat as they lie back and listen to jazz!
- "Come. The bear will not purue us. Such things happen only in the theatre." Reference to the best stage direction ever!
- Alpacas or llamas! (Not sure which.) Yeah, not going to eat you, dude.
- Those men guarding the Cybermen ship with the silver earphones on: are those the predecessors to the bluetooth things in "Rise of the Cybermen"?
- Ace and her nitro-9!
- Southern rich gal visiting her roots! Whose played back an actual American!
- Slingshot vs. Cybermen! Slingshot wins!
- Ace beat the Doctor at chess!
That... didn't really tell much about the plot. I get more attracted to the little things, can't you tell?
