januarFinally got around to watching the mid-season finale, after download issues and sound and video not syncing up. So reaction and thoughts and theory time.
Hoooooooly shit. The only water in the forest is the river. They don't have a word for pond.
One of my first thoughts, after my initual reaction, was 'there are going to be more than a few people unhappy about this revelation.' Unless those thoughts have changed. It does make writing Amy/River and having both Amy and Rory married to River a little awkward now. Whatever! I had that written before the reveal, so I don't care!
I'm really curious about the stories with the Silurian and the Sontaran. The Sontaran who is A NURSE. Nothing wrong with nurses, sontaran dude. Look at Rory!
Yes, look at Rory! RORY THE KICK ASS 'WHERE THE HELL IS MY WIFE' RORY. RORY THE ROMAN. RORY WHO AMY'S SPEECH WAS ABOUT. RORY WITH BOTH A SWORD AND A GUN. RORY WHO WAS GOING TO BE TOUGH BUT INSTEAD HE CRIES. RORY YOU ARE AWESOME AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. ... ahem. Can you tell who my favorite companion is?
Now that we know who River is, I want to rewatch all the episodes with River and the Ponds. Just to see the reactions River has to them. Cause a few things seem confusing.
So... River is Amy and Rory's daughter. Who has Time Lord DNA because her parents had their wedding night while traveling in the time vortex. Who is quite possibly (it hasn't been completely confirmed yet, so I'm still leaving the option open) the Time Head girl from the beginning of the season. Who can apparently regenerate. If the girl was in the spacesuit that shot the Doctor, and if River is the girl, that means River killed the Doctor.
The question I have to ask is: if River is Amy and Rory's daughter, how did she end up in the 51st century?
There are other thoughts and questions of course, like where is the Doctor going without Amy and Rory? Does that mean they won't be with him in the season half of the season? They have to be, because I saw pictures way back before the season aired that have Amy and Rory with the Doctor, and it definitely wasn't in any of the seven episodes we've seen already. And the title of the next episode? Could they have been less blunt? That seriously can't be the same of the episode.
There were other thoughts, but they've escaped me, so now I'm going to finally start reading reaction posts (I've been avoiding the internet since early on Saturday as to not get spoiled in the slightest). It will be interesting to see how different people react to the episode.
